HOLY SHIT: A New Joss Whedon Television Series!

The world just got a little brighter: “Dollhouse“, a television series starring ol’ Faith herself, Eliza Dushku, is coming to Fox. They’ve already given a seven-episode commitment.

The world may be goin’ to hell in a handbasket, but it’s going a slight bit slower now. :-)

How to comment (in just 3 easy steps).

Geek blog Gizmodo has a new habit of making “how to comment” posts. I thought it was a good idea so I’m using it here. The Liberator blog gets about 10,000 viewers each month, but only a small fraction of those visitors comment on the site. And I’ve received emails from several of you guys expressing frustration at not being able to comment. I’d like to encourage more people to do so. So here you go. (Might re-post this periodically to ensure new visitors get the lesson as well)

STEP 1:
At the end of each post you’ll see this footer below. Go ahead and click on “leave a comment”.

STEP 2:
You’ll then be taken to a page that looks like this where you can start typing your comment in the “leave a comment” field. After you’ve written your comment, you need to identify yourself.

STEP 3:
You have three options. In this picture below I’ve chosen to use my blogger/gmail account. You can sign up for a blogger account at www.blogger.com or if you have a gmail account you can use that login as well, and then click “publish your comment”.

The second option is to use a nickname you create on the fly. To do so just click the “other” option, type in whatever name you want to display in the “name” field. And if you choose you can type in your website or your favorite website in the “your web page” field, but you don’t have to if you don’t want to, and then click “publish your comment”.

The third option is posting anonymously. Technically the “other” option is anonymous also, but using this option you will actually be identified by the name “Anonymous”. All you have to do is click the “anonymous” option and then click “publish your comment”.

Is Globalstar Rearranging The Deck Chairs?

Posted: April 17, 2007 by Jason Bates Filed under: NAB 2007 Permalink

Globalstar’s new unlimited air time offer for “loyal†subscribers is seen as a last-ditch effort to retain customers, who are leaving the service in increasing numbers, according to NAB attendees.
The telephone operator’s satellite constellation is degrading at a rapid rate, and the company’s second-generation system will not be in orbit quickly enough to stop a major service gap. Not only are customers begining to seek alternatives, distributers were not even offering Globalstar to potential subscribers because of the service gaps.

Another potential fear, according to industry officials, is that first responders and others that have stocked Globalstar equipment for disaster relief communications may find that their emergency systems are unavailable when they are needed most.

Globalstar holds a subscriber advantage over Iridium because of cheaper equipment and service plans, but are the Globalstar problems leaving the door wide open for Iridium to claim the crown of dominant satellite telephone provider once and for all?

Where in the world should CKU go?

Here in the Events Department, we are always planning and working hard to bring you the best events possible. A lot of thought goes into finding the perfect location for CKU’s each year. We search the map trying to decide where to come, brainstorm possible sites as a team, and look at several options throughout the country. So even though the first CKU of 2007 isn’t until April, we are already looking forward to 2008! We’re starting to think about where we should go, and we want your input!

Come be a part of our planning process! Take a look at the map and post a comment letting us know where you think CKU should come in 2008. We will randomly select 5 responses and they will receive a CKU prize! We can’t wait to hear from you!

Crave Worthy: Mobelform Doc Sofa/Bunk Bed

Mon, 07/23/2007 - 12:50pm by casasugar

As a kid, it was really cool to have a bunk bed, especially if it was covered in something even cooler, like novelty sheets featuring The Smurfs or the Transformers. But this Transformer-meets-bunk-bed totally kicks the ass of all those other forms of coolness. I mean, really, how amazingly awesome is this Mobelform Doc Sofa/Bunk Bed?

Priced at $6,840 for the regular size and $8,660 for the extra-large version, this metal sofa bed converts from a couch to a bunk bed in just a few fluid movements. Yes, it is expensive, but awesomeness like this doesn’t come cheap. Here’s what it looks like in action:
